About Shiva Dol

Shiva Dol is the tallest Shiva temple in Assam, built in 1734 by Ahom Queen Ambika with an 8-foot golden spire rising 104 feet from the bank of Sivasagar Lake. Two flanking temples, Vishnu Dol and Devi Dol, complete a sacred trio along the lakefront that forms the architectural heart of the old Ahom capital. The complex is one of the finest examples of Ahom religious architecture.
