Shipping and delivery

Where we ship
Anywhere in India. Everything leaves from Guwahati, Assam.
We do not yet offer checkout for international orders. Selling abroad brings customs paperwork and, for tea, import rules that differ by country, and we would rather not take your money before we can say honestly whether the parcel will clear. If you are outside India, email [email protected] and we will quote the courier and the rules for your country.
What it costs
Shipping is priced on packed weight, because a xorai in bell metal and a packet of tea do not cost the same to move and a flat rate would mean overcharging on one to cover the other. Free over ₹2,500.
| Packed weight | Rate |
|---|---|
| Up to 500 g (a packet of tea, a gamosa) | ₹70 |
| 500 g to 1 kg (two packets, a shawl) | ₹110 |
| 1 kg to 3 kg (a gift set, a japi) | ₹190 |
| 3 kg to 5 kg (bell metal, a small xorai) | ₹280 |
| Over 5 kg | ₹280 plus ₹55 per extra kg |
The exact figure appears at checkout before you pay, never after.
How long it takes
- In stock items: dispatched within 2 working days.
- Northeast India: usually 2 to 4 days after dispatch.
- Metros: usually 4 to 7 days after dispatch.
- Elsewhere, and hill districts: 5 to 10 days. Sometimes longer.
Those are courier estimates, not promises we control. During Bihu, Durga Puja and Diwali, and through heavy monsoon weeks, add a few days. We would rather say that here than surprise you later.
Some textiles are woven to order. Where that is true the product page says so, with the lead time, and we write to you with a real dispatch date rather than leaving the order silent.
Tracking
You get a tracking number by email when the parcel leaves. If it has not moved for four days, write to us and we will chase the courier rather than asking you to.
If something arrives broken
Bell metal and terracotta travel badly however well they are packed. Photograph the parcel and the item and email [email protected] within 7 days of delivery. We replace or refund, and we do not ask you to post a broken thing back.
Wrong address
Check the pincode before you pay. If a parcel comes back to us because the address was wrong, we will resend it once you cover the second courier charge. If the mistake was ours, we cover it.
