About Khongjom War Memorial

Khongjom War Memorial marks the site of the final battle of the 1891 Anglo-Manipur War, where Manipuri forces under the legendary commander Paona Brajabashi fought to their last soldier against the British army. An annual cultural festival on 23 April commemorates the battle with traditional Manipuri music, dance, and martial arts.
