About Sendra Island
Sendra Island sits in the middle of Loktak Lake — the largest freshwater lake in Northeast India — rising above the vast carpet of floating phumdi vegetation. A small tourist bungalow on the island offers one of the most atmospheric stays in Manipur, with views across the lake to the Manipur Hills at sunset. Reached by boat from Moirang, the island gives the best perspective of Loktak’s unique floating meadow ecosystem.
