About Jakrem Hot Springs
Jakrem Hot Springs are among the most accessible geothermal springs in Northeast India, flowing from a hillside near Mawsynram at a temperature warm enough for a therapeutic soak. The sulphur-rich water is believed locally to relieve joint pain and skin conditions. The setting in a forested gorge with a stream below makes it a rewarding half-day trip from Shillong that few visitors know about.
