About Umngot River
The Umngot River at Dawki is widely considered the clearest river in Asia — the water is so transparent that boats appear to float on glass above the riverbed. From November to March, visibility through the water reaches several metres, and the experience of rowing across the glassy surface with the riverbed fully visible below is unlike anything else in Northeast India. The river marks the India-Bangladesh border.
