About Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra

Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra is Northeast India’s largest cultural complex, named after the 15th-century saint-playwright who gave Assam its sattriya classical dance tradition. The campus holds five museums covering Assamese crafts, masks, textiles, and performing arts, plus an open amphitheatre where regular cultural programmes are staged. It is the single best place to understand Assamese civilisation in one visit.
