About Kupup Lake

Kupup Lake, also called Elephant Lake for its distinctive shape, sits at 13,066 feet on the road toward Nathu La and the Chinese border. The glacial lake is surrounded by high-altitude grasslands that turn gold in autumn, and the Himalayan peaks reflected in its still surface make it one of the most photogenic high-altitude lakes in Sikkim. It is usually combined with Tsomgo Lake and Nathu La as a full day trip from Gangtok.
