About Deopahar Ruins

Deopahar is an 8th–12th century archaeological site near Numaligarh featuring clusters of ruined Hindu and Buddhist temples scattered across a forested hill. The site preserves beautiful stone carvings of Vishnu, Shiva, and tantric goddesses, largely unvisited by tourists, making it one of Assam’s most atmospheric hidden heritage discoveries.

  • From Kaziranga: Approximately 30 km (50 minutes by road)
