The point of this box
Most people buying Assam tea for the first time have no way to tell whether they want orthodox or CTC, and the internet is not much help because most of it is written by people selling one of them.
Three pouches, 50 g each, roughly twenty cups apiece. Brew them in the same week and the question answers itself.
What to expect from each
Second flush orthodox. Whole leaf, malty, best black or with a little milk. Brew at 100 degrees for three to four minutes.
CTC. Fast, strong, made for boiled milk tea. Brew it the Assamese way, in the pan with milk and sugar, not in a cup.
Green. From the same assamica plant, so fuller than a Chinese green. 75 to 80 degrees, two minutes. Boiling water will make it bitter and you will blame the tea.
As a gift
This is the safest thing on the site to send someone whose taste you do not know. It is also the one to buy for yourself before committing to a larger pouch.
