Pfutsero is the highest town in Nagaland at 2,133 metres, sitting in Phek district where the Naga Hills meet the sky. Often wrapped in cloud, the town offers panoramic views across ranges of forested ridgelines and has a character distinct from Kohima — quieter, cooler, and with a small but welcoming tourism infrastructure. The rhododendron forests around Pfutsero bloom spectacularly in spring.
