About Palak Lake

Palak Lake is the largest natural lake in Mizoram, set in the remote southern district of Saiha near the Myanmar border. The lake is fringed with dense reeds and surrounded by forested hills, and local Maras tribe folklore holds it sacred. The lake and its surroundings are rich in waterbirds and the setting is peaceful in a way that rewards the long drive south from Lunglei or Aizawl.
