About Mawlynnong Village

Mawlynnong was named Asia’s Cleanest Village in 2003 and has maintained that status through a community-enforced culture of cleanliness, with bamboo dustbins at every corner, composting pits, and a ban on plastic. The village has a sky walk bamboo tower offering views toward the Bangladesh plains and a beautiful single-decker living root bridge nearby at Riwai. Entry requires a modest fee and vehicles must park outside.
