About Dampa Tiger Reserve

Dampa Tiger Reserve in northwest Mizoram covers 500 sq km of subtropical and temperate forest along the Bangladesh border. The reserve protects tigers, leopards, Hoolock gibbons, clouded leopards, serow, and a rare assemblage of bird species including the critically endangered Manipur Bush Quail. Officially a tiger reserve, Dampa is one of India’s least-visited national parks, giving it a wildness that well-known parks have long since lost.
