About Kachari Ruins

The Kachari Ruins in Dimapur are the remnants of the 10th-15th century Kachari kingdom — a field of massive mushroom-shaped stone pillars (kho-no) whose original purpose remains debated. The largest medieval megalithic site in Northeast India, these carved stone columns rise from the earth across a 45-acre park in the middle of Dimapur city, largely ignored by mainstream tourism. The Archaeological Survey of India protects the site.
