About Yuksom

Yuksom was the first capital of Sikkim, where the first Chogyal (king) was crowned in 1642. The historic Norbugang Chorten and the ancient throne stone remain from that coronation. Today Yuksom is the trekking base for the Dzongri–Goecha La trail into Khangchendzonga National Park — one of the finest Himalayan treks in India.
