About Umananda Island
Umananda — the Shiva temple on the world’s smallest inhabited river island — sits in the middle of the Brahmaputra. Reached by a short ferry from Fancy Bazaar ghat, the island is also home to the rare golden langur monkey. The temple dates to the 17th century and the views of Guwahati from the river are unforgettable.
