About Tripura Sundari Temple
Tripura Sundari Temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas — a sacred site where parts of the goddess Sati’s body are believed to have fallen. The present 500-year-old temple houses the Soroshi idol, one of the 10 Mahavidyas, and sits on a small hill surrounded by two lakes. The annual Navratri celebrations draw hundreds of thousands of devotees from across India.
