About Talatal Ghar
Talatal Ghar is the largest Ahom military structure in Assam — a seven-storey palace of which four floors lie underground, riddled with secret tunnels that once allowed troops to escape to distant locations. Built by King Rajeswar Singha, it remains an extraordinary feat of 18th-century military engineering, largely unexplored.
