About Rang Ghar

Rang Ghar is Asia’s oldest surviving amphitheatre — a two-storey pavilion built by the Ahom king Pramatta Singha in the 18th century for royal sports like buffalo and elephant fights. Its distinctive boat-shaped roof and perfectly preserved galleries make it one of the most remarkable architectural monuments in all of Northeast India.
