About Mawphlang Sacred Grove
The Mawphlang Sacred Grove is one of the last ancient sacred forests of the Khasi people — a 192-acre woodland that has been preserved for centuries by religious taboo. Nothing may be removed from this forest. Ancient monoliths stand among centuries-old trees draped in moss, orchids and medicinal plants found nowhere else.
