About Madhuri Lake
Madhuri Lake (also called Shungetser or Sangetsar Lake) is a stunning high-altitude lake near Tawang, named after Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit filmed here in the 1990s. Set at 12,000 ft amid rhododendron forests and snow-dusted peaks, the turquoise lake reflects the surrounding Himalayas with mirror-like clarity.
How to Reach
- From Tawang: Approximately 42 km (100 minutes by road)
- Permit required: Inner Line Permit (ILP) for Indian citizens
