About Khecheopalri Lake

Khecheopalri Lake is the sacred ‘wish-fulfilling lake’ of West Sikkim — a perfectly still forest lake surrounded by prayer flags and the calls of rare birds. Local legend says birds remove every fallen leaf from the surface to keep the lake pristine. The lake is deeply sacred to both Buddhists and Hindus, and the atmosphere of silence and devotion is extraordinary.
