About Japfu Peak

Japfu Peak at 3,048 metres is the second-highest peak in Nagaland and home to the world’s tallest known rhododendron tree — a towering bloom of flowers each spring. The day-trek from Khonoma village passes through oak-rhododendron forest to panoramic summit views over the Kohima hills and, on clear days, distant Himalayan peaks.

  • From Kohima: Approximately 15 km (35 minutes by road)
