Deepor Beel is the only Ramsar wetland site in Assam — a vast freshwater lake on Guwahati’s western edge that shelters over 200 species of birds including the rare Adjutant Stork, migratory bar-headed geese, and occasional wild elephants from the nearby Rani-Garbhanga forest. A birder’s paradise just 30 minutes from the city.
