About Charaideo Maidam
Charaideo Maidam is the burial ground of the Ahom kings — a UNESCO World Heritage Site nomination featuring over 90 burial mounds (maidams) spanning 600 years of Ahom rule. Often called the ‘Pyramids of Assam’, these sacred mounds hold the remains of the kings, queens, and nobles who built one of medieval India’s most powerful kingdoms.
